Went to Supermarket after Rialto (for Stephanie Daley movie : see below) & It was this $5 week deal so I ended up stocking up on 4 or 5 specials then practically rupturing myself carting it all home. Been stuffing myself with Yoghurt all night. I should stop.

Stephanie Daley is a harrowing watch, dark & subtle & rather bleak, leaving ethical loose ends all over the place at its conclusion but displaying one bravura performance from Amber Tamblyn & good work from support actors Tilda Swinton (also executive producer) , Timothy Hutton, ( The Irish gangster father from Kidnapped ) & Melissa Leo ( From Homicide : Life On The Killing Streets) . I'd say Amber T is looking to emulate Chloe Sevigny rather than Reese Witherspoon ie to carve out a career of quality small film projects interspersed with more lucrative occasional gigs on telly. Should be interesting to see what she does next.

Got into conversation with an elder woman in the audience b4 & after the film pointing out that the audience which was about 35 -40 consisted of around 30 women, a gay couple, me & about 2 other straight guys. Unlike Inland Empire , the David Lynch fillum that went in at 6.15 immediately b4 Stephanie Daley, pulling in a 50-50 crowd of 100 or more.
